Let’s kick this year off right.

One of my big objectives for 2018 is to understand and experiment with art of filmmaking and the creation of short films.

It’s an objective I’ve been thinking about for a long time. My friend Ben has been pushing me and everyone around us to do video for quite some time now and finally, I’ve pulled the trigger.

On my trip to Hong Kong last month shooting a Cathay Pacific campaign, I decided to spend the in-between moments recording video in a very uneducated way. I had zero knowledge about cinematography and video in general. I did this knowing that in early 2018, I would attempt to learn all the dimensions of filmmaking from scratch and commit to editing a short film. This meant understanding and putting together the hodgepodge collection of clips I took, understanding my knowledge gaps of what I needed to learn cinematography and direction-wise, and learning Final Cut Pro X in as compressed a time frame as possible.

And here we are. 2 weeks later with our first step towards the goal.

I made a lot of mistakes. I learnt a lot. I know it’s not the best, but it’s my first video, so please be kind 🙂

I hope you enjoy it! Let me know if you do so I know I’m on the right track. You know where to find me.
