I had a really great time shooting street in Tokyo on my last trip.

Although it’s nothing new, and street photography is (in my opinion) fairly easy in Japan, it’s always fun regardless.

On this trip, I mixed up my setup from the traditional 16-35mm + 70-200mm pairing I usually run with for street, and instead opted for fast primes – mostly the 85mm f1.4 G Master and 35mm f1.4 Zeiss.

Most of these images were actually shot on the 85. The GM is a new addition to my kit, and one I’m quickly moving to my top 2 favourite lenses of all time. I’m really enjoying the isolation this lens provies, and I hope it comes through in the images.

Let me know what you think!

All shots edited with my ‘Street level – Japan’ preset pack, which you can get here.
